Terms of Use

Last updated 18 July 2026.

These terms govern your use of Geo-Parity at https://geo-parity.com, operated by Adam Simmons Spaans. By using the site or its APIs, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What Geo-Parity provides

Geo-Parity offers free informational tools that estimate cost-of-living, purchasing power, fair pay, financial runway, visa and tax-residency thresholds, timezone overlap and cloud latency, based on third-party data sources.

2. Not professional advice

All figures are model estimates for general information only. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, relocation or immigration advice, and must not be relied on as such. Data can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Before making any financial, tax, relocation, visa or employment decision, verify the position with a suitably qualified professional and the relevant official authority.

3. No warranty

The site and APIs are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. This is a project that may change or be withdrawn at any time.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Adam Simmons Spaans will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, Geo-Parity or its data, including any financial loss or decisions made using the tools. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. Accounts

If you create an account, provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and take responsibility for activity under your account. Don't impersonate others or use the service unlawfully. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service. See the Privacy Policy for how account data is handled.

6. Acceptable use & the API

The JSON APIs are open (CORS-enabled, no key required) and provided for reasonable, good-faith use. They are rate-limited per IP address; an optional API key raises the limit for the plan it belongs to but never changes a response. Please don't overload them, scrape abusively, share or resell keys, or use the service to break the law or infringe others' rights. We may rate-limit or block traffic that harms the service, and these terms may evolve as usage patterns become clear.

7. Paid plans, payment & refunds

The tools, the country pages and the JSON API are free. Optional paid plans (see Pricing) add convenience features, higher API limits, or a one-off dataset. Paying never changes the figures any tool or endpoint returns.

Payment processor. Payments are taken by Stripe, which handles your card details directly — Adam Simmons Spaans never receives or stores them. Adam Simmons Spaans is the seller of record. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and exclude VAT/GST, which Stripe calculates and adds at checkout for jurisdictions where we are registered to collect it; your card issuer may apply its own conversion.

Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel, switch plan or update your payment method at any time from your account, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancelling stops future charges and access continues to the end of the period already paid for; we don't pro-rate part-periods.

Right to cancel (UK/EU consumers). You normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital services. Because access begins immediately, by completing checkout you ask us to start supplying straight away and acknowledge you lose that right once supply has begun. Beyond that, if something isn't working as described, email info@geo-parity.com — we'd rather refund you than keep money for a service that failed you.

Failed payments and changes. If a payment fails, access may be suspended until it succeeds. We may change plan prices or contents with reasonable notice; changes apply from your next billing period, and you can cancel before it starts.

8. Third-party & affiliate links

The site links to third-party services, some of which are affiliate or sponsored links. We are not responsible for third-party sites or their content. See the Affiliate & Sponsorship Disclosure.

9. Intellectual property

The site's original design, text and code belong to Adam Simmons Spaans. Underlying statistics remain the property of their respective sources (the World Bank, IMF, OECD, Penn World Table and others) and are used for informational purposes with attribution.

10. Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date reflects the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
