Where would you pay the least tax on a remote salary?

Headline tax rates are close to meaningless — what matters is the effective rate on your actual income once bands, allowances and employee social contributions are applied. This ranks countries on that, for a single filer earning $100,000.

Several countries offer special regimes for incoming remote workers that cut this sharply. They are not assumed here because eligibility is narrow and time-limited; where one exists, the country's own page shows what it would change.

# Country Effective rate Note
1 🇦🇱 Albania 0% tax $7,426/mo kept
2 🇩🇿 Algeria 0% tax $7,704/mo kept
3 🇦🇩 Andorra 0% tax $6,800/mo kept
4 🇦🇴 Angola 0% tax $7,646/mo kept
5 🇦🇬 Antigua and Barbuda 0% tax $6,748/mo kept
6 🇦🇲 Armenia 0% tax $7,567/mo kept
7 🇦🇹 Austria 0% tax $6,401/mo kept
8 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan 0% tax $7,765/mo kept

14 🇧🇪 Belgium 0% tax $6,376/mo kept

How this is worked out: Income tax plus employee social contributions on $100,000, single filer, no deductions, at the standard rate. Special regimes excluded. Estimates for comparison, not advice.

A ranking is a starting point, not an answer — your income, household and destination change the order. The Tax residency tracker runs the same engine against your own figures, and every country above links to its own page.
