# Where can a local owner register a company fastest?

United Kingdom leads on days to register at 1 day; Spain is last of the 15 shown at 16 days.

Not the time at the registry counter but the whole process — name approval, incorporation, tax and social-security registration, any licence — for a standard limited company owned by a local, in the largest business city. B-READY replaced Doing Business with answers from lawyers and accountants who do this for a living, checked against firm surveys.

B-READY is a rotating cohort: 22 of the 41 countries here are in the 2025 edition, and the rest — Germany, France, Japan, India and Australia among them — are absent rather than estimated. The tool behind this page shows the cost in local currency, the foreign-owner figures and whether it can all be done online.

A short process says nothing about what comes after it: capital that must be paid in, sectors closed to foreigners, or a quota of national employees, all of which the tool shows beside the days. Published facts, for information only.
