# Where is the internet fast enough to work on?

Chile leads on median broadband at 366.2 Mbps; Portugal is last of the 15 shown at 257.5 Mbps.

For remote work this is the infrastructure question that matters. A video call needs a few megabits; what breaks a working day is unreliability, and median speed is the best available proxy for whether a country's fixed connections are up to it.

It is a median for the whole country, so a major city will usually beat it and a rural area will usually not reach it. Mobile coverage, which many nomads actually rely on, is a separate matter this figure does not capture.
